  1  1    Amend Senate File 2331, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Section 1.  Section 80A.2, Code 1997, is amended
  1  6 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  7    NEW SUBSECTION.  9.  A person engaged in the
  1  8 business of transporting prisoners under a contract
  1  9 with the Iowa department of corrections or a county
  1 10 sheriff, a similar agency from another state, or the
  1 11 federal government.
  1 12    Sec. ___.  Section 724.4, subsection 4, Code 1997,
  1 13 is amended by adding the following new paragraph:
  1 14    NEW PARAGRAPH.  k.  A person engaged in the
  1 15 business of transporting prisoners under a contract
  1 16 with the Iowa department of corrections or a county
  1 17 sheriff, a similar agency from another state, or the
  1 18 federal government."
  1 19    #2.  Title page, line 1, by striking the words "to
  1 20 provide" and inserting the following:  "relating to
  1 21 agreements for the provision of services, by excluding
  1 22 persons who provide transportation of prisoners from
  1 23 requirements pertaining to private investigators or
  1 24 security agents and the carrying of weapons, and
  1 25 providing".
  1 26    #3.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 27 word "resources" the following:  "by the department of
  1 28 corrections".
  1 29    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
