1 3 #1. Page 1, line 4, by inserting after the word
1 4 "officer" the following: ", corrections officer, or

1 9 #3. Page 1, by inserting after line 17 the
1 10 following:
1 11 "Sec. ___. Section 724.2, Code 1997, is amended by
1 12 adding the following new subsections:
1 13 NEW SUBSECTION. 8. A resident of this state, who
1 14 possesses an offensive weapon which is a curio or
1 15 relic firearm under the federal Firearms Act, 18
1 16 U.S.C. ch. 44, solely for use in the official
1 17 functions of a historical reenactment organization of
1 18 which the person is a member, if the offensive weapon
1 19 has been permanently rendered unfit for the firing of
1 20 live ammunition. The offensive weapon may, however,
1 21 be adapted for the firing of blank ammunition.
1 22 NEW SUBSECTION. 9. A nonresident, who possesses
1 23 an offensive weapon which is a curio or relic firearm
1 24 under the federal Firearms Act, 18 U.S.C. ch. 44,
1 25 solely for use in official functions in this state of
1 26 a historical reenactment organization of which the
1 27 person is a member, if the offensive weapon is legally
1 28 possessed by the person in the person's state of
1 29 residence and the offensive weapon is at all times
1 30 while in this state rendered incapable of firing live
1 31 ammunition. A nonresident who possesses an offensive
1 32 weapon under this subsection while in this state shall
1 33 not have in the person's possession live ammunition.
1 34 The offensive weapon may, however, be adapted for the
1 35 firing of blank ammunition."
1 36 #4. Title page, line 1, by striking the words "to
1 37 consider" and inserting the following: "relating to
1 38 weapons and munitions by considering".
1 39 #5. Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
1 40 word "force" the following: "and relating to the
1 41 possession of curio or relic firearms by members of
1 42 certain organizations".
1 43 #6. By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
1 44 and correcting internal references as necessary.
