    Final Bill Action: HOUSE FILE 2486, a bill for  an act appropriating
    federal funds made available from federal block grants and other federal
    grants, allocating portions of federal block grants, and providing
    procedures if federal funds are more or less than anticipated or if
    federal block grants are more or less than anticipated.

    Recommendation: AMEND AND DO PASS AS PROVIDED IN AMENDMENT S-5804.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 20: Murphy, Boswell, Lind, Bartz, Black, Borlaug,
    Douglas, Dvorsky, Flynn, Fraise, Gronstal, Halvorson, Hammond, Husak,
    Judge, McLaren, Neuhauser, Rensink and Vilsack. Nays, 1: Iverson. Absent
    or not voting, 4: Bisignano, Banks, Kramer and Tinsman.

    Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.



    EDUCATION

    Final Bill Action: SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 123 (formerly Senate
    Concurrent Resolution 121), a concurrent resolution congratulating Coach
    Dan Gable and the University of Iowa Hawkeye Wrestling Team for winning
    the National Collegiate Athletic Associations 1996 team championship.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE RESOLUTION.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 11:  Connolly, Kibbie, Redfern, Dvorsky, Fink, Kramer,
    Lind, Neuhauser, Rensink, Szymoniak and Tinsman. Nays, none. Absent or
    not voting, 4: Deluhery, Hammond, Iverson and Murphy.

    Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.

    ALSO:

    Final Bill Action: SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 124 (formerly Senate
    Concurrent Resolution 120), a concurrent resolution honoring Ms. Jorie
    Graham, the 1996 Pulitizer Prize winner in the field of poetry.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE RESOLUTION.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 10:  Connolly, Kibbie, Redfern, Dvorsky, Fink, Kramer,
    Lind, Neuhauser, Rensink and Tinsman. Nays, none. Absent or not voting,
    5: Deluhery, Hammond, Iverson, Murphy and Szymoniak.
