         Senator Vilsack withdrew the motion to reconsider House File 2144
    filed by him on April 2, 1996, and found on page 1183 of the Senate
    Journal.

         President pro tempore Bisignano took the chair at 9:48 a.m.



                           HOUSE AMENDMENTS CONSIDERED

    Senate File 259

         Senator Sorensen called up for consideration Senate File 259, a
    bill for an act relating to the practice of mortuary science, cremation,
    and licensing of funeral establishments and providing penalties, amended
    by the House in House amendment S-5636 filed April 2, 1996.

         Senator Halvorson asked and received unanimous consent that action
    on House amendment S-5640 and Senate File 259 be deferred.

    Senate File 2085

         Senator Fink called up for consideration Senate File 2085, a bill
    for an act relating to handicapped parking and providing a penalty,
    amended by the House in House amendment S-5630 filed April 2, 1996.

         Senator Fink asked and received unanimous consent that action  on
    House amendment S-5630 and Senate File 2085 be deferred.



                              CONSIDERATION OF BILL

                            (Appropriations Calendar)

         Senator Horn asked and received unanimous consent to take up for
    consideration Senate File 2462.

    Senate File 2462

         On motion of Senator Neuhauser, Senate File 2462, a bill for an act
    relating to energy conservation including making appropriations of
    petroleum overcharge funds, was taken up for consideration.

         Senator Neuhauser asked and received unanimous consent that House
    File 2444 be substituted for Senate File 2462.
