                          REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEE

                (Place nominees on En Bloc Confirmation Calendar)

                                 WAYS AND MEANS

         Pursuant to Senate Rule 59, the committee on Ways and Means
    assigned to investigate the following governors appointments, completed
    its investigations on March 28, 1996, and recommended the appointees be
    confirmed:

         Fred E. McKim, Jr. and Emil S. Pavich as members of the Iowa
    Railway Finance Authority.



                            PRESENTATION OF VISITORS

         The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the
    Senate gallery:

         Fifty fifth grade students from Cody Elementary School, Pleasant
    Valley, accompanied by Sonia Vogel, Kity Miller, Dave Langtimm and Joel
    Hake. Senators Rittmer and Tinsman.

         Thirteen seventh and eighth grade students from Pine Grove
    Mennonite School, Chester, accompanied by Mary Nightengale. Senator
    Borlaug.
