STATE GOVERNMENT
Final Bill Action: SENATE RESOLUTION 104, a senate resolution urging the
United States government to reassess its policy relating to the dispute
between the Peoples Republic of China (mainland communist China) and the
Republic of China (ROC) on Taiwan.
Recommendation: DO PASS.
Final Vote: Ayes, 15: Gronstal, Kibbie, Rittmer, Bennett, Bisignano,
Connolly, Dearden, Drake, Fink, Giannetto, Halvorson, Lind, Lundby,
McLaren and Sorensen. Nays, none.
Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.
ALSO:
Final Bill Action: SENATE FILE 2409, a bill for an act relating to
workforce development by establishing a workforce development
department, by eliminating the department of employment services, and
including workforce development programs in the new department, by
providing for state privatization contracts, and by establishing a
workforce development board and regional advisory boards.
Recommendation: DO PASS.
Final Vote: Ayes, 12: Gronstal, Kibbie, Rittmer, Bisignano, Connolly,
Dearden, Fink, Giannetto, Halvorson, Lind, Lundby and Sorensen. Nays, 3:
Bennett, Drake and McLaren.
Fiscal Note: REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.
