         Senator Borlaug offered amendment S-5249 filed by him from the
    floor to page 3 of the bill.

         (Action on Senate File 2443 was deferred.)

         The Senate stood at ease at 4:25 p.m. until the fall of the gavel
    for the purpose of a party caucus.

         The Senate resumed session at 5:20 p.m., President Boswell
    presiding.

    Senate File 2443

         The Senate resumed consideration of Senate File 2443 and amendment
    S-5249 by Senator Borlaug to page 3 of the bill.

         Senator Borlaug moved the adoption of amendment S-5249, which
    motion lost by a voice vote.

         Senator Vilsack offered amendment S-5269 filed by him from the
    floor to page 3 of the bill and moved its adoption.

         Amendment S-5269 was adopted by a voice vote.

         Senator Maddox offered amendment S-5273 filed by him from the floor
    to pages 4, 6, 8, 17 and 18 of the bill, moved its adoption and
    requested a record roll call.

         On the question Shall amendment S-5273 be adopted? (S.F. 2443) the
