IMMEDIATE MESSAGE Siegrist of Pottawattamie asked and received unanimous consent that House File 2477 be immediately messaged to the Senate. ADOPTION OF THE REPORT OF THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE (House File 2486) Sukup of Franklin called up for consideration the report of the conference committee on House File 2486 and moved the adoption of the conference committee report and the amendments contained therein as follows: REPORT OF THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE ON HOUSE FILE 2486 To the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate: We, the undersigned members of the conference committee appointed to resolve the differences between the House of Representatives and the Senate on House File 2486, a bill for An Act appropriating federal funds made available from federal block grants and other federal grants, allocating portions of federal block grants, and providing procedures if federal funds are more or less than anticipated or if federal block grants are more or less than anticipated, respectfully make the following report: 1. That the Senate recedes from its amendment, H-6032. 2. That House File 2486, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, is amended as follows: 1. Page 13, line 24, by striking the figure "8,306,132" and inserting the following: "8,633,742". 2. Page 24, by inserting after line 22 the following: "Sec. ___. CULTURAL AFFAIRS - FEDERAL ACTIONS. The department of management shall conduct a review of federal actions concerning the level of funding and policies relating to the arts and to cultural affairs and the anticipated effects of the federal actions upon the department of cultural affairs and the department of cultural affairs' programs. Based upon the anticipated effects, the department of management shall examine the functions and programs of the department of cultural affairs and make recommendations to the governor and the general assembly as to options for restructuring the department of cultural affairs' programs. The recommendations shall be submitted to the governor and the general assembly prior to the convening of the Seventy-seventh General Assembly.
