                             COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVED

         The following communications were received and placed on file in
    the office of the Secretary of the Senate.

                             DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

                    The Annual Condition of Education Report

         This document contains data relative to programming in Iowas
    elementary and secondary schools as well as community colleges. It
    consists of five components: pupil achievement, staff, program, finance,
    and enrollment.

                             DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

         A report pursuant to Iowa Code section 272C.4(2), on behalf of the
    Professional Licensing and Regulation division in the Department of
    Commerce and the six professions encompassed within the division.

                          DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

         As required in Iowa Code section 307.21, a summary of purchasing
    activity for soy based inks and biodegradable trash bags. The figures
    are for calendar year 1994.

                       DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

         Report to the General Assembly on Value-Added Agricultural Products
    and Processes Financial Assistance Program as required by H.F. 2337,
    passed by the 75th General Assembly.

                             DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

         The technical report and the executive summary which have been
    developed by North Central Regional Educational Laboratories in order
    assess the economic impact of the proposed rules for special education.
    The study was mandated by the General Assembly during the last
    legislative session (Senate File 2330).

                        IOWA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

         1994 Annual Report Professional Licensure pursuant to Iowa Code, Ch
    272C.4(2)b.

         Report of the Center for Rural Health and Primary Care, submitted
    in accordance with 1994 Iowa Acts, Chapter 1168 pursuant to HF 2422,
    75th G.A.

         Certificate of Need (CON) Program annual report July 1, 1993-June
    30, 1994, pursuant to Section 135.77, Code of Iowa.
