         The appointee having received a two-thirds vote was declared to
    have been confirmed by the Senate.

         Senator Szymoniak called up the reappointment of Betty L.
    Grandquist as Director of the Department of Elder Affairs, placed on the
    Individual Confirmation Calendar on March 28, 1995, without
    recommendation, and found on page 921 of the Senate Journal.

         Senator Szymoniak moved that the foregoing appointment be confirmed
    by the Senate.
