    to the Iowa arts and cultural enhancement and endowment program and

    Final Bill Action: SENATE FILE 393 (SSB 319), a bill for an act relating
    to school finance by increasing the foundation base level for special
    education, providing for additional enrollment for transportation costs
    based upon a sparsity factor, and providing additional state aid for
    school districts with schools which have a percentage of pupils eligible
    for free or reduced price lunches in excess of the state average, and
    making appropriations and providing effective date provisions.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 14:  Connolly, Kibbie, Redfern, Deluhery, Dvorsky,
    Fink, Hammond, Iverson, Kramer, Murphy, Neuhauser, Rensink, Szymoniak

    Fiscal Note: REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.

    ALSO:

    Final Bill Action: *SENATE FILE 406 (SSB 239), a bill for an act
    extending the periods in which a school or school district may apply to
    the department of education to waive the requirement that the school or
    school district provide an articulated sequential elementary-secondary
    guidance program and the requirement that the school or school district
    provide a media services program.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 11:  Connolly, Kibbie, Redfern, Deluhery, Dvorsky,
    Hammond, Murphy, Neuhauser, Rensink, Szymoniak and Tinsman. Nays, none.
