SPECIAL GUESTS Senator Kibbie introduced Tracy Nelson from Emmetsburg, Miss Shamrock of 1995. She was accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nelson and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Nelson. Tracy addressed the Senate with brief remarks. Senator Kibbie introduced the Honorable Ned OKeefe, T.D., a member of the Fianna Fail Party who has served as a spokesman for industry for five years. He has served in the Dail since 1982, and is currently serving in the Senate. Mr. OKeefe is associated with many agricultural related programs and is a member of the Gaelic Athletic Association. He was accompanied by his wife, Ann. Mr. OKeefe addressed the Senate with remarks about the similarities between the Iowa and the Irish farmers. He stated that Ireland is dependent on Iowa soy, corn and grain products to assist in combating shortages in Ireland. He noted that three generations of Irish immigrants have brought the tradition of hospitality to Iowa. Senator Kibbie introduced the following Irish Dancers present in the northwest gallery: Brooke Jones, Joanne McNally, Eryn Mehan, Denise Stafford, Erin Wentzel, Margy Jo Wentzel, Rachel Lowman, Amanda Brown, Katie Orr, Melissa Jones, Christy Rouse, Laura Fog, and coach Kelly Vanosbree.
