by her from the floor and moved its adoption:

 2     1.  By striking page 1, line 33, through page 2,
 3   line 11, and inserting the following:  "until June 30,
 4   1999."
 5     2.  Page 4, line 7, by striking the figure "2000"
 6   and inserting the following:  "1999".
A non-record roll call was requested.
The ayes were 37, nays 55.   .
Amendment H-3020 lost.
Garman of Story offered amendment H-3021 filed from the floor by
Garman, Cormack and Wise as follows:
H-3021
 1     Amend House File 120 as follows:
 2     1.  Page 2, by inserting after line 27 the
 3   following:
 4     "   .  To reduce student-teacher ratios, including
 5   but not limited to, employing additional teachers."
 6     2.  By relettering as necessary.
Rants of Woodbury rose on a point of order that amendment H-3021
was not germane.
The Speaker ruled the point well taken and amendment H-3021 not
germane.
Garman of Story moved to suspend the rules to consider amendment
H-3021.
