1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION No.
1 2 BY PALMER AND BISIGNANO
1 3 A Resolution honoring the pages of the Senate and
1 4 providing for the awarding of additional
1 5 compensation as a bonus for extraordinary
1 6 service.
1 7 WHEREAS, the pages of the Senate of the 1995
1 8 Session of the 76th General Assembly have performed
1 9 their duties in an outstanding manner and have shown
1 10 extraordinary dedication in the performance of those
1 11 duties; and
1 12 WHEREAS, the pages of the Senate have, despite long
1 13 hours and sometimes difficult conditions, retained
1 14 their senses of humor and shown themselves to be good-
1 15 natured and responsible individuals; and
1 16 WHEREAS, while performing their duties, the pages
1 17 of the Senate have demonstrated a positive and
1 18 enlightened attitude towards the legislative process;
1 19 and
1 20 WHEREAS, in addition to being excellent employees,
1 21 the pages of the Senate have proven to be dedicated
1 22 scholars who possess the ability to compose
1 23 enlightened prose about the members of the Senate and
1 24 its associated agencies and individuals; and
1 25 WHEREAS, in addition to their regular duties, the
1 26 pages of the Senate performed invaluable services to
1 27 the Senate and the state of Iowa during the
1 28 presidential visit that greatly contributed to the
1 29 success of the visit; and
1 30 WHEREAS, the extraordinary service and dedication
2 1 shown by the pages of the Senate of the 1995 Session
2 2 of the 76th General Assembly should be recognized; NOW
2 3 THEREFORE,
2 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the members of
2 5 the Senate express their sincere appreciation for the
2 6 hard work and dedication of the pages of the Senate.
2 7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That each of the pages of
2 8 the Senate shall receive in compensation, in addition
2 9 to their regular and overtime compensation, a bonus
2 10 for the excellent service performed, to be included in
2 11 their final paycheck, in an amount equal to the pay
2 12 for forty hours of work at the regular pay rate for
2 13 pages.
2 14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
2 15 Resolution be presented to each of the pages of the
2 16 Senate.
