PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 420.239, Code 1995, is amended to read 1 2 as follows: 1 3 420.239 CERTIFICATE OF REDEMPTION. 1 4 The treasurer, collector, or person authorized to receive 1 5 the same, upon application of any party to redeem real 1 6 property sold as aforesaid, and being satisfied that such 1 7 person has a right to redeem the same, and on payment of the 1 8 proper amount, shall issue to such party a certificate of 1 9 redemption, in substance and form as provided for the 1 10 redemption of property sold for state and county taxes,and1 11shall make proper entry thereof in the sale book,which 1 12 redemption shall thereupon be deemed complete without further 1 13 proceedings. 1 14 Sec. 2. Section 582.4, Code 1995, is amended to read as 1 15 follows: 1 16 582.4 LIEN BOOK &endash; FEES. 1 17 Every clerk of the district court shall, at the expense of 1 18 the county, provide a suitable well-bound book to be called 1 19 the hospital lien docket in which, upon the filing of any lien 1 20 claim under the provisions of this chapter, the clerk shall 1 21 enter the name of the injured person, the date of the 1 22 accident, and the name of the hospital or other institution 1 23 making the claim.SaidThe clerk shall make a proper index of 1 24 the same in the name of the injured person andsuchthe clerk 1 25 shall collect a fee oftwoten dollars for filing each lien 1 26 claim. 1 27 Sec. 3. Section 602.8102, subsection 44, Code 1995, is 1 28 amended to read as follows: 1 29 44.CertifyForward to the superintendent of each 1 30 correctional institution a copy of the sheriff's certification 1 31 concerning the number of days that have been credited toward 1 32 completion of an inmate's sentence as provided in section 1 33 903A.5. 1 34 Sec. 4. Section 602.8105, subsection 1, Code 1995, is 1 35 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 1 NEW PARAGRAPH. f. For a motion to show cause in a civil 2 2 case, twenty-five dollars. 2 3 Sec. 5. Section 626.10, Code 1995, is amended to read as 2 4 follows: 2 5 626.10 DUPLICATE RETURNS AND RECORD. 2 6 If real estate is sold under said executionsaidthe 2 7 officer shall make return thereof in duplicate, one of which 2 8 shall be appended to the execution and returned to the court 2 9 from which it is issued, the other with a copy of the 2 10 execution to the district court of the county in whichsaid2 11 the real estate is situated, which shall be filed by the clerk 2 12who shall make entries thereof in the sale bookand handled in 2 13 the same manner as if such judgment had been rendered and 2 14 execution issued fromsaidthe court. 2 15 Sec. 6. Section 628.13, unnumbered paragraph 2, Code 1995, 2 16 is amended to read as follows: 2 17 Redemption may also be made by the titleholder presenting 2 18 to the clerk of the district court the sheriff's certificate 2 19 of sale properly assigned to the titleholder, whereupon the 2 20 clerk of the district court shall cancel thesaidcertificate 2 21and enter full redemption in the sale book. 2 22 Sec. 7. Section 628.20, Code 1995, is amended to read as 2 23 follows: 2 24 628.20 EXCESS PAYMENT &endash;ENTRY ANDCREDIT. 2 25 If the amount paid to the clerk is in excess of the prior 2 26 bid and liens, the clerk shall refund the excess to the party 2 27 paying thesame, and enter each such redemption made by a2 28lienholder upon the sale book, andamount. If the clerk is 2 29 the clerk of the district court where the judgment giving rise 2 30 to the lien was entered, the clerk shall credit upon the lien,2 31if a judgment in the court of which the clerk is clerk,the 2 32 full amount thereof, including interest and costs, or such 2 33 less amount as the lienholder is willing to credit therein, as 2 34 shown by the affidavit filed. 2 35 Sec. 8. Section 903A.5, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 1995, 3 1 is amended to read as follows: 3 2 An inmate shall not be discharged from the custody of the 3 3 director of the Iowa department of corrections until the 3 4 inmate has served the full term for which the inmate was 3 5 sentenced, less good conduct time earned and not forfeited, 3 6 unless the inmate is pardoned or otherwise legally released. 3 7 Good conduct time earned and not forfeited shall apply to 3 8 reduce a mandatory minimum sentence being served pursuant to 3 9 section 124.406, 124.413, 902.7, 902.8, or 902.11. An inmate 3 10 shall be deemed to be serving the sentence from the day on 3 11 which the inmate is received into the institution. However, 3 12 if an inmate was confined to a county jail or other 3 13 correctional or mental facility at any time prior to 3 14 sentencing, or after sentencing but prior to the case having 3 15 been decided on appeal, because of failure to furnish bail or 3 16 because of being charged with a nonbailable offense, the 3 17 inmate shall be given credit for the days already served upon 3 18 the term of the sentence. Theclerk of the district court3 19 sheriff of the countyfromin which the inmate wassentenced,3 20 confined shall certify to thewardenclerk of the district 3 21 court from which the inmate was sentenced the number of days 3 22 so served.
