  1  1    Section 1.  Section 70A.17A, subsection 1, paragraph d,
  1  2 subparagraphs (1) and (3), Code 1995, are amended to read as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    (1)  One hundred or more state officers or employees
  1  5 employed outside the jurisdiction of the state board of
  1  6 regents, or employed at Iowa state university of science and
  1  7 technology or the state university of Iowa.
  1  8    (3)  Twenty-five or more state officers or employees
  1  9 employed at the Iowa school for the deaf or at the Iowa
  1 10 braille and sight saving school or employed outside the
  1 11 jurisdiction of the state board of regents.  
  1 12                           EXPLANATION
  1 13    This bill changes the required number of state officers or
  1 14 employees employed outside the jurisdiction of the state board
  1 15 of regents requesting automatic payroll deduction for
  1 16 professional or trade association dues or fees from 100 to 25
  1 17 employees to activate the deduction.
