CONSIDERATION OF BILLS
(Regular Calendar)
Senate File 393
On motion of Senator Connolly, Senate File 393, a bill for an act
relating to school finance by increasing the foundation base level for
special education, providing for additional enrollment for
transportation costs based upon a sparsity factor, and providing
additional state aid for school districts with schools which have a
percentage of pupils eligible for free or reduced price lunches in
excess of the state average, and making appropriations and providing
effective date provisions, was taken up for consideration.
Senator Flynn offered amendment S-3318 filed by him from the floor
to strike everything after the enacting clause and to the title page of
the bill.
Senator Lind raised the point of order that amendment S-3318 was
not germane to the bill.
The Chair ruled the point not well taken and amendment S-3318 in
order.
President pro tempore Bisignano took the chair at 5:01 p.m.
Senator Flynn asked and received unanimous consent that action on
amendment S-3318 and Senate File 393 be deferred.
Senate File 331
On motion of Senator Giannetto, Senate File 331, a bill for an act
changing the number of state employees required to activate automatic
payroll deduction for payment of professional or trade association dues
or fees, was taken up for consideration.
Senator Gianetto moved that the bill be read the last time now and
placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote, and the
bill was read the last time.
On the question Shall the bill pass? (S.F. 331) the vote was:
