  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-5419, to Senate File 2443,
  1  2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 12, by inserting after line 43 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "Sec.    .  Section 15.106, subsection 2, Code
  1  7 1995, is amended to read as follows:
  1  8    2.  Employ personnel as necessary to carry out the
  1  9 duties and responsibilities of the department,
  1 10 consistent with the merit system provisions of chapter
  1 11 19A for nonprofessional employees.  Professional staff
  1 12 of the department are exempt from the merit system
  1 13 provisions of chapter 19A."
  1 14    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
