  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-3498, to Senate File 266, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 19, by inserting after line 6 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "Sec.    .  Section 262.2, subsection 1, Code 1995,
  1  7 as enacted by 1995 Iowa Acts, House File 387, section
  1  8 1, is amended to read as follows:
  1  9    1.  The members shall be appointed by the governor
  1 10 subject to confirmation by the senate.  The term of
  1 11 each member of the board shall be for six years,
  1 12 except the term of the ninth member shall be for four
  1 13 years.  If the ninth member graduates before the end
  1 14 of the two-year term, the ninth member may remain on
  1 15 the board until the term expires if the member's
  1 16 graduation is within one year of the date of the
  1 17 expiration.  The terms of three members of the board
  1 18 shall begin and expire in each odd-numbered year as
  1 19 provided in section 69.19."
