1 1 Amend the amendment, H-3030, to Senate File 69, as
1 2 passed by the Senate as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, line 6, by inserting after the word
1 4 "INCOME" the following: "AND INHERITANCE".
1 5 #2. Page 4, by inserting before line 35 the
1 6 following:
1 7 "Sec. 100. Section 450.2, Code 1995, is amended by
1 8 adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 9 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. Property passing from
1 10 estates of decedents dying on or after July 1, 1999,
1 11 is not subject to tax under this chapter. This
1 12 chapter is repealed July 1, 1999, for property of
1 13 estates of decedents dying on or after July 1, 1999.
1 14 Sec. 200. Section 450.10, Code 1995, is amended by
1 15 adding the following new subsection:
1 16 NEW SUBSECTION. 8. For property, interest in
1 17 property, or income from property passing from estates
1 18 of decedents dying during the following fiscal years
1 19 the tax rates under subsections 1 through 6 shall be a
1 20 percentage of those specified as follows:
1 21 a. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1995,
1 22 eighty percent.
1 23 b. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1996,
1 24 sixty percent.
1 25 c. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997,
1 26 forty percent.
1 27 d. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998,
1 28 twenty percent.
1 29 e. For fiscal years beginning on or after July 1,
1 30 1999, zero percent."
1 31 #3. Page 4, by inserting after line 46 the
1 32 following:
1 33 "Sec. . APPLICABILITY. Sections 100 and 200 of
1 34 this Act apply to estates of decedents dying on or
1 35 after July 1, 1995."
1 36 #4. Page 38, line 3, by inserting after the word
1 37 "health," the following: "inheritance tax phase
1 38 out,".
1 39 #5. By renumbering as necessary.
