1 1 Amend the amendment, H-3030, to Senate File 69, as
1 2 passed by the Senate as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, by striking lines 6 through 45 and
1 4 inserting the following:
1 5 "DEPENDENT TAX CREDIT AND SPECIAL FUND.
1 6 Section 1. Section 422.12, subsection 1, paragraph
1 7 c, Code 1995, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 8 Sec. 2. NEW SECTION. 422.12A DEPENDENT TAX
1 9 CREDIT.
1 10 1. The taxes imposed under this division less the
1 11 credits allowed under sections 422.11A, 422.11B,
1 12 422.11C, 422.12, and 422.12B shall be reduced by a
1 13 dependent tax credit equal to one hundred thirty-five
1 14 dollars for each dependent for tax years beginning on
1 15 or after January 1, 1995, but before January 1, 1997,
1 16 and four hundred fifteen dollars for each dependent
1 17 for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 1997.
1 18 The term "dependent" means the same as defined in the
1 19 internal Revenue Code.
1 20 2. Any credit in excess of the tax liability shall
1 21 be refunded. In lieu of claiming a refund, a taxpayer
1 22 may elect to have the overpayment shown on the
1 23 taxpayer's final, completed return credited to the tax
1 24 liability for the following taxable year."
