SENATE FILE 94 SUBSTITUTED FOR HOUSE FILE 366

Jones of Mills asked and received unanimous consent to substitute
Senate File 94 for House File 366.

Senate File 94, a bill for an act providing for the confidentiality of
certain veterans' records maintained by county recorders, was taken
up for consideration.

Fallon of Polk offered the following amendment H-1156 filed by
him and moved its adoption:

H-1156

1 Amend Senate File 94, as passed by the Senate, as
2 follows:
3 1. Page 1, by inserting after line 22, the
4 following:
5 "Sec. . Section 331.608, subsection 6, Code
6 2003, is amended to read as follows:
7 6. If a certified copy of a public record is
8 required to perfect the claim of a veteran in service
9 or honorably discharged or a claim of a dependent of
10 the veteran, the certified copy shall be furnished by
11 the custodian of the public record without charge."
12 2. By renumbering as necessary.

Amendment H-1156 was adopted.

Jones of Mills moved that the bill be read a last time now and
placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill was read
a last time.
