1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Kitty Rehberg.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Kitty Rehberg is retiring from
1 5 legislative office after completing two terms in
1 6 office as a State Senator; and
1 7 WHEREAS, Senator Rehberg's distinguished career as
1 8 a state legislator has included service as the
1 9 Chairperson of the Small Business, Economic
1 10 Development and Tourism Committee in the Seventy-ninth
1 11 General Assembly, as Chairperson of the Economic
1 12 Growth Committee in the Eightieth General Assembly,
1 13 and as Chairperson of the Education Appropriations
1 14 Subcommittee in the Seventy-seventh and Seventy-eighth
1 15 General Assemblies; and
1 16 WHEREAS, Senator Rehberg has also served as Vice
1 17 Chairperson of the Education Committee and on many
1 18 other standing committees throughout her eight years
1 19 of legislative service and has been an influential and
1 20 devoted legislator in this state; and
1 21 WHEREAS, Senator Rehberg has been influential in
1 22 the passage of legislation in areas of economic and
1 23 rural development, and education, and has championed
1 24 the interests of her constituents; and
1 25 WHEREAS, Senator Rehberg has served honorably and
1 26 has unselfishly given of her time and efforts to
1 27 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 28 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 29 NOW THEREFORE,
1 30 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
2 1 tribute to Senator Kitty Rehberg for her devoted
2 2 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
2 3 of this state and wish her the very best in the years
2 4 ahead; and
2 5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 6 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 7 Rehberg.
