1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Jack Holveck.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Jack Holveck is retiring from
1 5 legislative office after completing one term in office
1 6 as a State Senator and nine terms as a member of the
1 7 House of Representatives; and
1 8 WHEREAS, Senator Holveck's distinguished career as
1 9 a state legislator has included service as the ranking
1 10 member of the Judiciary Committee in the Seventy-ninth
1 11 General Assembly and ranking member of the
1 12 Administration and Regulation Appropriations
1 13 Subcommittee in the Eightieth General Assembly; and
1 14 WHEREAS, Senator Holveck has served on many other
1 15 standing committees throughout his 22 years of
1 16 legislative service and has been an influential and
1 17 devoted legislator in this state; and
1 18 WHEREAS, Senator Holveck as a lawyer-legislator has
1 19 been instrumental in championing the causes of
1 20 consumers, low-income Iowans, and others who have not
1 21 historically had a strong voice in public
1 22 policymaking; and
1 23 WHEREAS, Senator Holveck has served honorably and
1 24 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to
1 25 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 26 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 27 NOW THEREFORE,
1 28 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 29 tribute to Senator Jack Holveck for his devoted
1 30 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
2 1 of this state and wish him the very best in the years
2 2 ahead; and
2 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 4 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 5 Holveck.
