MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE

The following message was received from the Senate:

Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on
April 19, 2001, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the House is asked:

Senate File 527, a bill for an act relating to and making appropriations to the
judicial branch.

SENATE MESSAGE CONSIDERED

Senate File 523, by committee on ways and means, a bill for an
act relating to the size of an estate that may be distributed by
affidavit, making related inheritance tax changes, and providing for
the Act's applicability.

Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means.

Rants of Woodbury asked and received unanimous consent for the
immediate consideration of House File 718.

CONSIDERATION OF BILLS
Appropriations Calendar

House File 718, a bill for an act appropriating funds to the
department of economic development, certain board of regents
institutions, the department of workforce development, and the public
employment relations board, making related statutory changes, and
providing effective dates, was taken up for consideration.

Boggess of Page offered amendment H-1591 filed by her from the
floor as follows:

1 Amend House File 718 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, line 16, by striking the figure
3 "1,630,619" and inserting the following: "1,649,126".
4 2. Page 2, line 3, by striking the figure
5 "631,680" and inserting the following: "400,000".
6 3. Page 2, line 5, by striking the figure
7 "94,000" and inserting the following: "50,000".
