The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:48 a.m., Speaker
Siegrist in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Nancy Solomonson, pastor of Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids. She was the guest of
Representative Bob Osterhaus of Jackson County.
The Journal of Monday, April 9, 2001 was approved.
SENATE MESSAGE CONSIDERED
Senate File 515, by Iverson and Gronstal, a bill for an act
providing for the crossing of railroad rights-of-way by public utilities,
and providing applicability dates.
Read first time and referred to committee on commerce and
regulation.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Speaker Siegrist introduced to the House the Honorable Joe Ertl,
former state representative from Dubuque County.
The House rose and expressed its welcome.
CONSIDERATION OF BILL
Regular Calendar
Senate File 114, a bill for an act relating to the composition of the
medical assistance advisory council, with report of committee
recommending amendment and passage, was taken up for
consideration.
Hoversten of Woodbury offered the following amendment H-1442
filed by the committee on human resources and moved its adoption:
