The House met pursuant to adjournment at 9:22 a.m., Foege of
Linn in the chair.
Prayer was offered by the Honorable Ro Foege, state
representative from Linn County.
The Journal of Thursday, April 5, 2001 was approved.
EXPLANATION OF VOTE
I was necessarily absent from the House chamber on April 5, 2001.
Had I been present, I would have voted "aye" on House Files 653, 654
and 687.

A communication was received from the Governor announcing that
on April 5, 2001, he approved and transmitted to the Secretary of
State the following bill:
House File 89, an act relating to the supervision of curriculum received via the Iowa
communications network.
