IMMEDIATE MESSAGES

Rants of Woodbury asked and received unanimous consent that
the following bills be immediately messaged to the Senate: House
Files 669, 674 and 678.

Appropriations Calendar

Senate File 66, a bill for an act relating to state general fund
expenditure limitation requirements for transmission of the state
budget by the governor and passage of the state budget by the
general assembly, with report of committee recommending passage,
was taken up for consideration.

The House stood at ease at 3:37 p.m., until the fall of the gavel.

The House resumed session at 4:35 p.m., Speaker Siegrist in the
chair.

Murphy of Dubuque asked and received unanimous consent that
amendment H-1119 be deferred.

Mascher of Johnson asked and received unanimous consent that
amendment H-1130 be deferred.

Mascher of Johnson offered the following amendment H-1138 filed
by her and moved its adoption:

H-1138

1 Amend Senate File 66, as passed by the Senate, as
2 follows:
3 1. Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
4 following:
5 "Section 1. SAVINGS ACCOUNT FUND APPROPRIATION.
6 There is appropriated from the general fund of the
7 state to the department of education for the fiscal
8 year beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002,
9 the following amount, or so much thereof as is
10 necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
11 For deposit in the teacher compensation reform and
