HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 9 WITHDRAWN
Baudler of Adair asked and received unanimous consent to
withdraw House Joint Resolution 9 from further consideration by the
House.
House File 73, a bill for an act relating to the powers and duties
of the executive director of the commission of veterans affairs by
providing for the recognition of honor guard units of veterans
organizations to perform honor guard services, with report of
committee recommending amendment and passage, was taken up for
consideration.
Eichhorn of Hamilton offered the following amendment H-1261
filed by the committee on state government and moved its adoption:
H-1261
1 Amend House File 73 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, by striking lines 7 through 14 and
3 inserting the following:
4 "2. a recognized military veterans organization, a
5 reserve officer training corps, or an honor guard unit
6 of the organization or corps shall be allowed to
7 perform honor guard services on public school property
8 or other public property in this state. The honor
9 guard services are not a violation of any public
10 policy, rule, regulation, resolution, or ordinance
11 which prohibits the possession or display of rifles or
12 firearms on public school property or other public
13 property in this state."
The committee amendment H-1261 was adopted.
Eichhorn of Hamilton moved that the bill be read a last time now
and placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill was
read a last time.
