The House met pursuant to adjournment at 8:45 a.m., Speaker pro
tempore Sukup in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Steve Pike, pastor of Martelle
Christian Church, Martelle. He was the guest of Representative Dan
Boddicker from Cedar County.
The Journal of Monday, March 19, 2001 was approved.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 658, by Fallon and Mascher, a bill for an act relating
to the possession or use of marijuana for medical purposes, providing
exemptions from certain criminal and civil penalties associated with
such possession or use, and providing a penalty and an effective date.
Read first time and referred to committee on human resources.
House File 659, by committee on environmental protection, a bill
for an act prohibiting the land disposal of and requiring recycling of
white goods.
Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means.
House File 660, by committee on local government, a bill for an
act relating to school infrastructure purposes and property tax relief
by increasing state sales and use taxes, distributing the increased
state sales and use tax revenues to school districts for school
infrastructure purposes and property tax relief and including an
effective date.
Read first time and referred to committee on ways and means.
House File 661, by committee on environmental protection, a bill
for an act relating to the burning of wood by sanitary landfills.
