MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE
The following message was received from the Senate:
Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on
March 7, 2001, adopted the following resolution in which the concurrence of the House
is asked:
Senate Concurrent Resolution 14, a concurrent resolution providing for a reduction
in the appropriations from the general fund of the state for the legislative branch for
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001.

SENATE MESSAGE CONSIDERED
Senate File 279, by committee on commerce, a bill for an act
relating to allocation and payment of expenses arising from
performance of duties by the Iowa utilities board and the consumer
advocate, providing for a report by the Iowa utilities board, and
providing an effective date.
Read first time and passed on file.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Reynolds of Van Buren on request of Myers of Johnson.
QUORUM CALL
A non-record roll call was requested to determine that a quorum
was present. The vote revealed seventy-seven members present,
twenty-three absent.
CONSIDERATION OF BILLS
Regular Calendar
House File 271, a bill for an act adding specified document
preparation and modification to the list of acts defining the activities
of a real estate broker, was taken up for consideration.
