Warnstadt of Woodbury asked and received unanimous consent to
withdraw amendment H-1164 filed by him on March 5, 2001.
Huser of Polk offered the following amendment H-1110 filed by her
and moved its adoption:
H-1110
1 Amend House File 403 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, by inserting after line 28 the
3 following:
4 "Sec. . Section 39.22, subsection 2, unnumbered
5 paragraph 1, Code 2001, is amended to read as follows:
6 If the county board of supervisors does not have
7 the power provided under subsection 1 to fill the
8 offices of trustee and clerk within a township by
9 appointment, then the offices of township trustee and
10 township clerk shall be filled by election. Township
11 trustees and the township clerk, in townships which do
12 not include a city, shall be elected by the voters of
13 the entire township. In townships which include a
14 city, the officers shall be elected by the voters of
15 the township who reside outside the corporate limits
16 of the city, but a township officer may be a resident
17 of the city."
Amendment H-1110 was adopted.
Jochum of Dubuque offered the following amendment H-1115 filed
by Reynolds of Van Buren and moved its adoption:

1 Amend House File 403 as follows:
2 1. Page 35, line 21, by striking the word "shall"
3 and inserting the following: "may".
Amendment H-1115 was adopted.
Boal of Polk asked and received unanimous consent to withdraw
amendment H-1109 filed by her and Huser of Polk on February 27,
2001.
