1 1 Section 1. Section 89.2, Code Supplement 2001, is amended
1 2 by adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 3A. "Owner" means the owner of a
1 4 facility, unless the facility is a new installation or is
1 5 undergoing major alterations, in which case the owner shall be
1 6 considered the person responsible for the installation or
1 7 alteration of the boiler or unfired steam pressure vessel
1 8 until the first certificate of inspection is issued.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill establishes a definition for "owner" in the
1 11 chapter of the Code regulating boilers and unfired steam
1 12 pressure vessels. The bill defines "owner" to mean the owner
1 13 of the facility or, until the first certificate of inspection
1 14 is issued, the person responsible for the installation or
1 15 alteration of a boiler or pressure vessel that is new or is
1 16 undergoing major alterations.
