1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Patricia Harper.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Patricia Harper is retiring from
1 5 legislative office after completing nearly six years
1 6 in office as a state Senator and four terms as a
1 7 member of the House of Representatives; and
1 8 WHEREAS, Senator Harper's distinguished career as a
1 9 state legislator has included service as the Ranking
1 10 Member of the Ways and Means Committee during the
1 11 Seventy-eighth and Seventy-ninth General Assemblies
1 12 and as Ranking Member of the Economic Development
1 13 Appropriations Subcommittee during the Seventy-seventh
1 14 General Assembly; and as a member of the
1 15 Administrative Rules Review Committee; and
1 16 WHEREAS, Senator Harper has served on many other
1 17 standing committees and appropriations subcommittees
1 18 throughout her 14 years of legislative service and has
1 19 been a devoted legislator; and
1 20 WHEREAS, Senator Harper's dedication and expertise
1 21 regarding education, early childhood, elderly, human
1 22 resources, and state revenue issues are well
1 23 recognized; and
1 24 WHEREAS, Senator Harper has served honorably and
1 25 has unselfishly given of her time and efforts to
1 26 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 27 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 28 NOW THEREFORE,
1 29 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
1 30 tribute to Senator Patricia Harper for her devoted
2 1 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
2 2 of this state and wish her the very best in the years
2 3 ahead; and
2 4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 5 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 6 Harper.
