1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
1 3 A Resolution honoring Senator Steven D. Hansen.
1 4 WHEREAS, Senator Steven D. Hansen is retiring from
1 5 legislative office after completing two terms in
1 6 office as a State Senator and four terms as a member
1 7 of the House of Representatives; and
1 8 WHEREAS, Senator Hansen's distinguished career as a
1 9 state legislator has included service as an Assistant
1 10 Minority Leader in the Seventy-seventh, Seventy-
1 11 eighth, and Seventy-ninth General Assemblies; and
1 12 WHEREAS, Senator Hansen's distinguished career has
1 13 also included service as Chairperson of the Small
1 14 Business, Economic Development and Tourism Committee,
1 15 and as Vice Chairperson of the Commerce Committee; and
1 16 WHEREAS, Senator Hansen has served on many other
1 17 standing committees throughout his 16 years of
1 18 legislative service and has been an influential and
1 19 devoted legislator in this state; and
1 20 WHEREAS, Senator Hansen has sponsored and been
1 21 instrumental in the passage of legislation pertinent
1 22 to Iowa relating to commerce, economic development,
1 23 gaming, and promotion of arts and cultural
1 24 attractions; and
1 25 WHEREAS, Senator Hansen has served honorably and
1 26 has unselfishly given of his time and efforts to
1 27 further the interests of the State of Iowa and to
1 28 provide beneficial programs for the citizens of Iowa;
1 29 NOW THEREFORE,
1 30 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate pay
2 1 tribute to Senator Steven D. Hansen for his devoted
2 2 service to the Iowa General Assembly and the citizens
2 3 of this state and wish him the very best in the years
2 4 ahead; and
2 5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 6 this Resolution be prepared and presented to Senator
2 7 Hansen.
