1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY FLYNN and HARPER
1 3 A Senate Resolution recognizing Task Force Alpha of the
1 4 Iowa Army National Guard for its dedication and
1 5 outstanding performance of duty.
1 6 WHEREAS, one hundred two soldiers from Company A,
1 7 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry of the Iowa Army
1 8 National Guard, were selected to perform a vital
1 9 security mission in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait from
1 10 October 10, 2000, to February 17, 2001; and
1 11 WHEREAS, Task Force Alpha includes troops from
1 12 Waterloo, Charles City, Dubuque, Oelwein, Hampton, and
1 13 Iowa Falls; and
1 14 WHEREAS, throughout their mobilization, deployment,
1 15 and demobilization, the members of Task Force Alpha
1 16 continually demonstrated professionalism, dedication,
1 17 and skill of the highest level; and
1 18 WHEREAS, the members of Task Force Alpha, in their
1 19 active duty abroad, were separated from home and
1 20 family relationships and obligations, and missed
1 21 special family occasions as they fulfilled their
1 22 assignment; and
1 23 WHEREAS, the actions of Task Force Alpha reflect
1 24 great credit upon all citizen soldiers of the Iowa
1 25 National Guard and the people of the state of Iowa;
1 26 and
1 27 WHEREAS, the people of the state of Iowa take great
1 28 pride in the professionalism of the members of Task
1 29 Force Alpha; NOW THEREFORE,
1 30 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
2 1 recognize the members of Task Force Alpha for their
2 2 dedication and outstanding performance of duty, and
2 3 that the Senate express its appreciation to the
2 4 families of the members of Task Force Alpha; and
2 5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
2 6 Resolution be presented to the Iowa Army National
2 7 Guard Commander of the 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry;
2 8 to Company A, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry; and to
2 9 all the members of Task Force Alpha.
