1 1 Section 1. Section 481A.1, subsection 19, Code 2001, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 19. "Fur-bearing animals" means the following which are
1 4 declared to be fur-bearing animals for the purpose of
1 5 regulation and protection under the Code: beaver, badger,
1 6 black bear, mountain lion, mink, otter, muskrat, raccoon,
1 7 skunk, opossum, spotted skunk or civet cat, weasel, coyote,
1 8 bobcat, wolf, groundhog, red fox, and gray fox. This chapter
1 9 does not apply to domesticated fur-bearing animals.
1 10 Sec. 2. Section 482.12, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code
1 11 Supplement 2001, is amended by striking the paragraph and
1 12 inserting in lieu thereof the following:
1 13 a. A sport fishing license entitles a person to take and
1 14 possess an amount of mussels or shells daily as authorized by
1 15 rule of the commission. Sale of mussels or shells is not
1 16 permitted with a sport fishing license.
1 17 Sec. 3. Section 482.12, subsection 1, paragraph b, Code
1 18 Supplement 2001, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 19 Sec. 4. Section 482.12, subsection 2, Code Supplement
1 20 2001, is amended to read as follows:
1 21 2. A person holding a commercial mussel fisher license may
1 22 take all species of freshwater mussels, or their parts, except
1 23 where otherwise prohibited by rules of the commission.
