PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 9.8 BIENNIAL REPORT. 1 2 By January 15 of each year, the secretary of state shall 1 3 determine and compile a list of which entities that filed a 1 4 biennial report with the secretary of state two years prior to 1 5 the previous calendar year did not file a biennial report 1 6 during the previous calendar year. Immediately following the 1 7 compilation of the list, the secretary of state shall forward 1 8 the list to the department of economic development. 1 9 Sec. 2. NEW SECTION. 15.115 BUSINESS SURVEYS. 1 10 The department shall receive the list compiled and 1 11 forwarded to the department by the secretary of state pursuant 1 12 to section 9.8. The department shall contact a representative 1 13 of each entity on the list and determine if any entity has 1 14 continued to be in existence but has moved its operations to a 1 15 different state. For each entity determined to have moved to 1 16 a different state, the department shall survey the entity in 1 17 an effort to determine the reasons for the entity moving its 1 18 operations to a different state. 1 19 EXPLANATION 1 20 This bill provides for business surveys to be conducted by 1 21 the department of economic development. 1 22 The bill provides that, by January 15 of each year, the 1 23 secretary of state shall determine and compile a list of which 1 24 entities that filed a biennial report with the secretary of 1 25 state two years prior to the previous calendar year did not 1 26 file a biennial report during the previous calendar year.
