  1  1    Section 1.  Section 54.9, Code 2001, is amended to read as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    54.9  COMPENSATION.
  1  4    The electors shall each receive a compensation of five
  1  5 dollars for every day's attendance equal to that provided in
  1  6 section 2.10, subsection 5, and the same mileage as members of
  1  7 the general assembly which shall be paid from funds not
  1  8 otherwise appropriated from the general fund of the state.  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill raises compensation for presidential electors
  1 11 from $5 for every day's attendance to the daily per diem level
  1 12 received by members of the general assembly.
