Section 260A.2, Code 2001, is amended to 2 30 read as follows: 2 31 260A.2 COMMUNITY COLLEGE VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL 2 32 TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENT PLANS. 2 33 Prior to receiving moneys under this chapter, the 2 34 board of directors of a community college shall adopt 2 35 a technology plan that supports community college 2 36 vocational-technical technology improvement efforts, 2 37 authorizes a needs assessment of business and industry 2 38 in the district, and includes an evaluation component, 2 39 and shall provide to the department of education 2 40 adequate assurance that funds received under this 2 41 chapter will be used in accordance with the technology 2 42 plan. The plan shall be developed by licensed 2 43 professional staff of the community college, including 2 44 both faculty members and school administrators, the 2 45 private sector, trade and professional organizations, 2 46 and other interested parties, and shall, at a minimum, 2 47 focus on the attainment of the vocational-technical 2 48 skills and achievement goals of the student. The plan 2 49 shall consider the community college's 2 50 interconnectivity with the Iowa communications 3 1 network, and shall demonstrate how, over a four-year3 2period,the board will utilize technology to improve 3 3 vocational-technical student achievement. The 3 4 technology plan shall be kept on file at the community 3 5 college. Progress made under the plan shall be 3 6 reported annually to the department of education in a 3 7 manner prescribed by the department of education." 3 8 #14.
