1 1 Amend Senate File 468 as follows:
1 2 #1. By striking everything after the enacting
1 3 clause and inserting the following:
1 4 "Section 1. Section 257.31, subsection 5, Code
1 5 2001, is amended by adding the following new
1 6 paragraph:
1 7 NEW PARAGRAPH. m. Unusual costs associated with
1 8 increased utility expenses over the level of utility
1 9 expenses incurred during the school year beginning
1 10 July 1, 1999.
1 11 Sec. 2. Section 257.31, subsection 5, paragraph m,
1 12 is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 13 Sec. 3. RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY. Section 1 of
1 14 this Act is retroactively applicable to July 1, 2000,
1 15 for the purpose of establishing a modified allowable
1 16 growth for the school year beginning July 1, 2000, and
1 17 is applicable for the school years beginning July 1,
1 18 2001, and July 1, 2002.
1 19 Sec. 4. EFFECTIVE DATES. Section 1 of this Act,
1 20 being deemed of immediate importance, takes effect
1 21 upon enactment. Section 2 of this Act takes effect
1 22 June 30, 2003."
1 23 #2. Title page, by striking lines 1 and 2 and
1 24 inserting the following: "An Act providing for a
1 25 modified allowable growth for school districts facing
1 26 increased utility costs, and providing retroactive
1 27 applicability and effective".
