1 1 Section 1. Section 135.107, Code 2001, is amended by
1 2 adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 4. For the purposes of this section,
1 4 nurse midwives and advanced registered nurse practitioners,
1 5 including all subclassifications thereof, shall be considered
1 6 primary health care providers.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This bill provides that for the purposes of Code section
1 9 135.107, dealing with the establishment of and administration
1 10 of a center for rural health and primary care, references to a
1 11 primary health care provider shall include nurse midwives and
1 12 all subclassifications of advanced registered nurse
1 13 practitioners.
