1 1 Section 1. Section 542B.14, subsection 2, Code 2001, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph after
1 3 paragraph d:
1 4 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. The practical experience
1 5 requirement of paragraphs "a" and "c" may be satisfied by
1 6 employment, for the applicable number of years under the
1 7 supervision of a land surveyor licensed pursuant to this
1 8 chapter, involving job responsibilities or duties typically
1 9 performed in the practice of land surveying pursuant to
1 10 section 542B.2, subsection 5.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill specifies circumstances under which the
1 13 requirement that an applicant for licensure as a land surveyor
1 14 possesses practical work experience may be fulfilled. Code
1 15 section 542B.14, subsection 2, paragraph "a", provides that an
1 16 applicant for licensure as a land surveyor shall have acquired
1 17 six years of practical experience, and paragraph "c" provides
1 18 that an applicant shall demonstrate a specific record of four
1 19 years or more of practical experience in land surveying work.
1 20 The bill provides that the practical experience requirements
1 21 may be satisfied by employment under the supervision of a land
1 22 surveyor licensed pursuant to Code chapter 542B, involving job
1 23 responsibilities or duties typically performed in the practice
1 24 of land surveying pursuant to Code section 542B.2, subsection
1 25 5.
