1 1 Section 1. Section 234.12A, subsection 1, Code 2001, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. d. The program shall include capacity for
1 4 using a secure internet site or other technology with similar
1 5 capacity so that medical assistance and child care providers
1 6 may submit billings electronically and capacity for these
1 7 providers to receive payment through electronic funds
1 8 transfer.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill requires the department of human services to
1 11 include an additional capacity in the electronic benefits
1 12 transfer program. The additional capacity provides for using
1 13 a secure internet site or other technology with similar
1 14 capacity so that medical assistance (Medicaid) and child care
1 15 providers may submit billings electronically and receive
1 16 payments through electronic funds transfer.
