1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 91A.13 TRAVEL TIME TO WORKSITE
1 2 – NOT COMPENSABLE.
1 3 An employee is not entitled to compensation for the time
1 4 that an employee spends traveling to and from the worksite on
1 5 transportation provided by the employer, when during that
1 6 time, the employee performs no work, the transportation is
1 7 provided by the employer as a convenience for the employee,
1 8 and the employee is not required by the employer to use that
1 9 means of transportation to the worksite.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill provides that employees who travel to and from
1 12 the worksite on transportation provided by the employer are
1 13 not entitled to compensation for the time that the employees
1 14 are traveling when no work is performed during the travel
1 15 time, the transportation is provided by the employer as a
1 16 convenience for the employees, and the employees are not
1 17 required by the employer to use that means of transportation
1 18 to get to the worksite.
