1 1 Section 1. Section 99E.9, subsection 3, paragraph m, Code
1 2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 m. The form and type of marketing, informational, and
1 4 educational material to be permitted. Marketing material and
1 5 campaigns shall include the concept of investing in Iowa's
1 6 economic development and show the economic development
1 7 initiatives funded from lottery revenue. The marketing,
1 8 informational, and educational materials may include content
1 9 which indicates the general programs or projects which benefit
1 10 from lottery revenue, but the board shall not allow the
1 11 materials to claim that a specific percentage of the lottery
1 12 revenue is allocated to a specific program or budget.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill provides that the marketing, informational, and
1 15 educational materials of the Iowa lottery may include content
1 16 which indicates the general programs or projects which benefit
1 17 from lottery revenue, but the board shall not allow the
1 18 materials to claim that a specific percentage of the lottery
1 19 revenue is allocated to a specific program or budget.
