  1  1    Section 1.  Section 54.9, Code 2001, is amended to read as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    54.9  COMPENSATION.
  1  4    The electors shall each receive a compensation of five
  1  5 dollars for every day's attendance equal to that provided in
  1  6 section 2.10, subsection 1 for members of the general assembly
  1  7 from Polk county, and the same mileage as members of the
  1  8 general assembly which shall be paid from funds not otherwise
  1  9 appropriated from the general fund of the state.
