Siegrist in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Ron Bryan, pastor of LeGrand
Friends Church, Marshalltown.
The Journal of Monday, January 22, 2001 was approved.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Van Fossen of Scott on request of Sievers of Scott.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 76, by Eddie, a bill for an act relating to the duration
of the additional weighting provided for limited English proficient
students.
Read first time and referred to committee on education.
House File 77, by Gipp, a bill for an act relating to presidential
electors' compensation.
Read first time and referred to committee on state government.
House File 78, by Smith, Osterhaus, Atteberry, Scherrman,
Reynolds, Winckler, Tremmel, Falck, Bukta, Quirk, May, Seng,
Jochum, Mertz, Richardson, and Greimann, a bill for an act relating
to prohibition of certain telephone solicitations, establishment of
certain requirements for contracts associated with such solicitations,
establishment of a list of persons not wishing to receive such
solicitations, making an appropriation, and providing for a civil
penalty.
