  1  1    Amend Senate File 2293, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 49, by striking lines 4 through 16 and
  1  4 inserting the following:
  1  5    "2.  A Except as otherwise provided in this
  1  6 subsection, a person shall not dispose of apply manure
  1  7 on cropland land located within two hundred feet from
  1  8 a designated area, unless one of the following
  1  9 applies:
  1 10    1.  The manure is applied by injection or
  1 11 incorporation within twenty-four hours following the
  1 12 application.
  1 13    2.  An area of permanent vegetation cover exists
  1 14 for fifty feet surrounding the designated area and
  1 15 that area is not subject to manure application.
  1 16    a.  The department may adopt rules requiring a
  1 17 decreased separation distance for the application of
  1 18 manure on land where a water quality improvement
  1 19 practice has been installed, including filter strips
  1 20 and riparian forest buffers.  The allowance of a
  1 21 decreased separation distance shall to every extent
  1 22 consistent with sound water quality practices be
  1 23 modeled on conservation practices required to be
  1 24 designed, constructed, and maintained according to
  1 25 technical standards for this state published by the
  1 26 United States department of agriculture, natural
  1 27 resources conservation service."
  1 28    #2.  Page 49, line 17, by striking the word
  1 29 "adopts" and inserting the following:  "may adopt".
