  1  1    Amend House File 2623 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 9, by striking lines 8 through 28 and
  1  3 inserting the following:
  1  4    "Sec. 100.  2002 Iowa Acts, Senate File 2304,
  1  5 section 25, is amended by striking the section and
  1  6 inserting in lieu thereof the following:
  1  7    SEC. 25.  EXECUTIVE BRANCH COMPENSATION FUNDING FY
  1  8 2001-2002.  There is appropriated from the Iowa
  1  9 economic emergency fund created in section 8.55 to the
  1 10 department of management for the fiscal year beginning
  1 11 July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, the amount, or
  1 12 so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the
  1 13 purpose designated:
  1 14    For providing funding to executive branch
  1 15 departments and agencies as necessary to eliminate the
  1 16 need for employee furloughs, layoffs, or other cost
  1 17 reductions to comply with the requirements of 2002
  1 18 Iowa Acts, Senate File 2304, section 25, as originally
  1 19 enacted:  
  1 20 .................................................. $ 11,702,872
  1 21    Moneys appropriated in this section are not subject
  1 22 to transfer under section 8.39 and shall only be used
  1 23 for the designated purpose.  Moneys appropriated in
  1 24 this section that remain unexpended or unobligated for
  1 25 the purpose designated at the close of the fiscal year
  1 26 shall revert as provided in section 8.33."
  1 27    #2.  Page 9, by inserting after line 34 the
  1 28 following:
  1 29    "Sec.    .  EFFECTIVE DATE.  Section 100 of this
  1 30 division of this Act, relating to executive branch
  1 31 compensation funding, being deemed of immediate
  1 32 importance, takes effect upon enactment."
  1 33    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
